3 WWE Legends Want To End Their Careers In AEW
Ex-WWE stars MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin wish to end their wrestling careers in AEW.
The Franchise Playa made his AEW debut on the October 2, 2024, episode of AEW Dynamite, and the Gold Standard joined soon after, making his in-ring debut on October 16, 2024, in a match against Lio Rush. The Almighty debuted soon afterward on October 30, 2024, officially joining the faction and completing the trio formerly known as The Hurt Business in WWE.
WWE legend MVP Shares The Hurt Syndicate’s Retirement Goals in AEW
MVP recently spoke about the group’s future and how they intend to end their careers in AEW. In an interview with Marcus Shorter of Andscape, Porter explained that none of them knows the exact “end of the road” for The Hurt Syndicate yet. He mentioned that all three of them want to finish their wrestling careers in AEW.
The WWE legend said he hasn’t retired officially and plans to have a proper send-off match someday. He also said he might stay in a different role afterward, possibly as a mouthpiece for younger talent. However, he emphasized that the timeline depends on what Bobby and Shelton decide for themselves and ultimately what AEW President Tony Khan wants.
“That’s up to Bobby and Shelton and what they want to do in their careers as wrestlers. It’s also ultimately what Tony Khan wants down the stretch. I haven’t officially retired from in-ring action yet. I haven’t had my last match, which will come at some point. I’m going to lose to somebody and go out on my back, which is what we were always taught to do. But there’s a possibility I might be around for a while after that as a mouthpiece for a young talent that needs that.
I can’t speak for Bobby or Shelton’s goals beyond the next few years. I know they both have other things they’d like to accomplish in life, but they both want to end their careers in AEW. What’s the timeline on that exactly? I can’t say.”
