Corey Graves was the victim of a recent brutal attack by Brock Lesnar.

During the SmackDown episode before WWE Wrestlepalooza, Michael Cole on commentary was told that Brock Lesnar would like their interview scheduled for later to be conducted immediately.

As the veteran commentator headed backstage, he was caught by surprise when Lesnar himself came out from backstage.

After exchanging words with Cole, Lesnar aggressively lifted him on his shoulders with intent to cause harm and brought him inside the ring.

Now in a panicky state, Michael Cole could do nothing but expect the worst. However, his commentary partner and former wrestler Corey Graves jumped into the ring and pleaded with The Beast Incarnate to spare him.

Brock Lesnar, instead, lifted Graves and delivered an F-5, and then followed it up with a second before heading backstage.

Graves was immediately attended by the medical professionals. For the remainder of the evening, The Miz stepped in as Michael Cole’s commentary partner.

Booker T Wants To Replace Corey Graves On WWE SmackDown

As a wrestler, Corey Graves earned a cult status among fans, especially during his time on WWE NXT.

His peers have often spoken about his in-ring IQ and professionalism, despite being a heel.

WWE legend Booker T recently spoke about the incident on the Hall of Fame podcast, wishing Graves a speedy recovery. He also stated that if WWE needed someone to step in, he would be more than happy to do it.

Look here man, I wanna send my condolences out to Corey Graves, and hopefully he can get himself back at some point, but if they need somebody to step in, I’m just a phone call away. You know me, I’m always available when I’m available.

My phone is always on, I’m like a doctor with a stethoscope. I’m ready to do this, I’m like the painter with the brush. [H/T: WrestleTalk]

Following Brock Lesnar’s attack on Graves, it is yet to be determined when the 41-year-old will return to commentary duties. He has been a good heel commentator and a rest is well-deserved, but not like this.
