WWE Legend Says He Doesn’t Think The Rock Should Be In The Royal Rumble

The Rock

A WWE Hall of Famer has explained that they don’t think The Rock should enter the men’s Royal Rumble but can see the business sense in the idea.

For months rumours have swirled that The Rock will return to his WWE roots at WrestleMania 39 for perhaps the final time in his illustrious career to do battle with Roman Reigns. With the road to WrestleMania beginning in earnest at the Royal Rumble, many fans have wondered if The Rock’s path to the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion will see him compete in the men’s over-the-top-rope bout once again.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T explained why that idea might make financial sense given The Rock’s fame but he doesn’t think it’s the way WWE should go to get to the blockbuster WrestleMania bout:

“It’s real simple. I got the biggest star in Hollywood, if not, top five; if he wants to win the Royal Rumble and go to WrestleMania, damn it, he’s winning. That’s the way I would write it. If he’s got time off, he knows what the money is, you know, we’re going to pay him, and he can fit it in, that’s what the story would be.”

“I don’t think that’s the way The Rock finds his way into that match with Roman. For me, I would not have Rock in the Rumble at all. It’s just not a place for him to be at.”
