WWE Legend No Longer Interested In The Rock Vs. Roman Reigns
The WWE Universe has wanted a dream match between The Rock and Roman Reigns for several years, especially as Reigns’ character evolved into “The Tribal Chief” and the centerpiece of WWE’s Bloodline storyline.
The demand peaked in 2022-2024, as fans hoped for a clash symbolizing family legacy at a major event like WrestleMania, given that both are members of the Anoa’i wrestling family.
The hype intensified after social media teasers, The Rock’s sporadic returns, and reports of backstage discussions about delivering the match before Reigns retires and The Rock’s schedule closes the window. Fans saw it as a “passing the torch” moment: The Rock representing the old guard and Reigns the new era.
The match was especially requested around WrestleMania 39 and WrestleMania 40, but didn’t happen due to timing issues and fan pushes for other storylines, like Cody Rhodes.
Speaking on TMZ’s Inside The Ring, Mark Henry discussed the potential Rock vs Reigns match. He stated he is no longer interested in seeing the match anymore, implying that the ship has sailed for the storyline angle.

Roman Reigns Returns on RAW
Roman Reigns made his return to WWE RAW on September 29, 2025, after being absent since his on-screen injury at Clash in Paris a month earlier. During the main event tornado tag match, he intervened to help The Usos defeat Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed of The Vision, delivering multiple steel chair shots as payback for their previous attack, which had put him out of commission.
Reigns sent a strong message after the show, reminding everyone that he is still The Tribal Chief and that his dominance still defines the landscape of WWE. He shared a notable moment with Jey Uso, instructing him to keep focus on family above all, while Jimmy Uso watched from a distance, indicating tension in The Bloodline’s ongoing saga.
