WWE Legend Was Terrified Working With Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan On The WrestleMania Participant Who Had:

Wrestling Hulk Hogan wasn’t just an average day at the office.

After making his WCW debut on the September 22nd, 1997 episode of Nitro, Goldberg quickly speared his way through the roster all the way to the main event and a clash with Hulk Hogan. During this period, Hogan and the nWo were dominating the company and in possession of the World Heavyweight Title.

This set up a match between the pair at the Georgia Dome on July 6th, 1998 that Goldberg won to become World Champion for the first time.

Appearing on the Steve & Captain Evil podcast, Goldberg looked back on his match with Hogan, describing the experience as terrifying.

“I walk in his room, and Hogan had been in the business for 115 years, … and I had just been in the business [for] six months and I looked at him and I said: ‘So, Mr. Hogan, what would you like to do?’ And he goes: ‘Ah, don’t worry about it kid. We’ll call it in the ring.'” Goldberg elaborated saying, “He’s talking to me, and telling me what we’re doing while the match is going on and I was completely terrified.”

Hulk Hogan Would Have Loved Match With Top WWE Star

Fast-forward to 2023 and Goldberg is upset about missing out on a retirement match, and Hulk Hogan’s career is also all but over. Despite this, Hogan in particular loves the idea of a hypothetical match-up and recently claimed he’d love to lock up with Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, or Randy Orton. The WWE Hall of Famer went on to describe Seth Rollins as cocky, adding he’d love to “rock him.”
