WWE Legend Set For Saturday Night’s Main Event
A WWE Hall of Famer is going home.
The second edition of WWE’s rebooted Saturday Night’s Main Event is set to take place on January 25th, just a week before the Royal Rumble. The taping will be held in San Antonio, Texas, and two huge title matches have already been announced.
The first of these will see Gunther put the World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Jey Uso. On the January 13th edition of Raw the dominant champion said he was going to expose Uso as nothing more than a very good tag team wrestler.
Meanwhile, Bron Breakker will defend his Intercontinental Championship against Sheamus. The Irish star has been on a quest for the gold for several years as it remains the only major WWE championship he’s never won.
WWE Hall Of Famer To Celebrate Homecoming
As reported on Wrestle Votes Radio via SportsKeeda’s Backstage Pass Patreon, the show will also feature San Antonio’s own Shawn Michaels. Although Michaels is currently the main man behind NXT, he rarely features on main roster television.
“We can confirm that there are plans for San Antonio’s own Shawn Michaels to be present and appear on the show. We are told HBK likely won’t have any physicality to his involvement, but WWE is planning on utilizing the legend in his hometown next weekend.
TC, it’s always fun to see Shawn Michaels show up. I know he’s present almost each and every week on NXT, but he’s certainly less HBK on that show than he could be in a special appearance.”
Peacock recently revealed the dates of other SNME shows in 2025 and it seems WWE is going head-to-head with AEW’s biggest show of the year.
