WWE Legend Rules Out One Final Match Against MJF
A WWE legend recently discussed the possibility of facing MJF in the ring.
He also recalled being previously approached by the AEW star with ideas for a ‘last match’.
While the legendary wrestler was impressed with the ideas, his response was unfortunately not favorable.
The WWE legend in question is Mick Foley.
The story goes that the WWE Hall of Famer was considering having a final match for his 60th birthday. It was at this point that he held a top-secret meeting with MJF.
Foley is a hardcore legend with multiple alter egos, including Dude Love, Cactus Jack, and Mankind.
In a recent interview with Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, he shared the MJF story. Although the wrestling legend admitted that he would have loved to face the AEW star, he ruled out the possibility of having the match.
In AEW, MJF really had a great idea, like, he was really sinking his teeth into some ideas, and we met, top-secret meeting. No photos avaialble to prove there was a meeting. So, you have to take my word.
He’s got some great ideas, he really did. If I could have pulled it off, I think I may have gone in that direction. It would, uh, it would have been epic. I don’t wanna tell you what it would have been because who knows, maybe if I continue to drop LBS and I get down to, like the 250-pound mark, maybe we can revisit the idea.
MJF, I wish I could do it. The battle of Long Island. Can you imagine that, Nassau Coliseum? It would be epic. But alas, at this point, it does not seem like it’s meant to be. But that’s my answer, and I’m sticking to it. H/T: Sportskeeda
In addition to competing in various hardcore matches, Foley has also had notable rivalries with Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, and Triple H.
WWE Hall Of Famer Blasts MJF
While Foley was all praises for MJF, another WWE Hall of Famer recently blasted the 29-year-old, labeling him ‘toxic’.
Jeff Jarrett, who was looking for a last title run in AEW, found himself on the wrong side of MJF, who even accused the former of exploiting the late Owen Hart to stay relevant.
While calling him toxic, Jarrett also claimed that no wrestler benefited from working with Maxwell.
He always leaves everyone worse than when he started being associated on any level. I think he’s toxic, I think he’s selfish, I think he’s got a boatload of talent but I don’t think he was good for my career on any level, Jarrett said.
MJF has the singular longest reign of 406 days as AEW Champion.
