WWE Legend Wants Roman Reigns To Retire John Cena
One of John Cena’s former rivals has given their take on his retirement tour.
In 2025 John Cena will finally bring the curtain down on his in-ring career. Following a year-long retirement tour that begins on the January 6th edition of Raw when the show premieres on Netflix, Cena will hang up his jorts for good.
Much has been made of who will get to face the star during this run, and there has even been talk John Cena could win the World Title one more time.
Whether he’ll get that 17th run with WWE’s top prize remains to be seen, but according to Kurt Angle, Cena should at least get the opportunity.
John Cena Tipped For One More Shot At World Title Glory
During a new interview with MuscleManMalcolm, Angle gave his thoughts on who should face Cena in his last match. The veteran suggested that not only should Roman Reigns be the man opposite Cena, but the match should be for the World Championship.
“Probably Roman Reigns. Knowing where Roman was when he started. I remember a promo where John put him in his place. I think they would have a good storyline coming up if they decided to have the last match Cena vs. Roman.
For John Cena’s credit, it should be for the World Title. He’s won 16 World Titles in WWE, no one have done that before. Ric Flair won 16, but he did with NWA, WCW, and WWE. John Cena has won 16 titles in WWE. No one has ever done that. I think he deserves a title shot,”
Reigns and Cena last met in the ring on the December 30th, 2022 edition of SmackDown when Cena teamed with Kevin Owens against the Tribal Chief and Sami Zayn. Their most recent singles bout came at SummerSlam 2021 where Reigns defeated Cena to retain the Universal Championship.
Roman Reigns was most recently in action at Survivor Series where he led CM Punk, The Usos, and Sami Zayn to victory over the Solo Sikoa and the New Bloodline.
