WWE Legend Wants Randy Orton To Join The Rock And John Cena

John Cena promo on WWE Raw

A former WWE Champion thinks another veteran could do worse than joining John Cena and The Rock.

At Elimination Chamber, John Cena dropped the biggest bombshell seen in WWE for several years as he turned heel to align with The Rock.

After winning the men’s chamber match and securing a World Title match with Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania, he attacked the American Nightmare leaving him a bloody mess.

Fans were forced to wait for an explanation for the assault, but it finally came on the March 17 episode of Raw. During the segment in Brussels, Belgium, John Cena was heavily booed as a packed house vented their anger. In response, Cena put the blame for his heelish antics on the fans, claiming they had treated him badly for years.

Rhodes eventually joined Cena in the ring, but aside from the verbal sparring, the true fireworks were being saved for a later date.

Speaking on his Kilq This podcast, Kevin Nash gave his thoughts on Cena’s heel turn and what might come next. During the conversation, the veteran was asked about whether the nWo could work in 2025 given recent comparisons between Cena and Hulk Hogan’s famous turn in 1996.

“Have Randy Orton join Cena and Rock. It would be a copycat now, but if you packaged…I don’t think Travis Scott is the right guy to be out there as the third. You would have to have somebody come back, like if you could get [Steve] Austin or ‘Taker, if they had a year left in them, then you could get that…you know what I mean? Then it’s a different era. It’s none of the new guys. But we’ve all timed out. I think Randy looks amazing right now,”

Following Raw it was reported that WWE was “ecstatic” with how John Cena’s promo was received by fans. One source even claimed that the show was the “hottest TV environment they’ve experienced”
