WWE Legend Playing Key Role With Young Stars
Triple H continues to surround himself with WWE legends.
Although ex-wrestlers working in management roles after retirement is nothing new, WWE has embraced that model with full force in recent years.
Triple H is currently in the main roster and company creative, Road Dogg is the co-lead writer on SmackDown, and Shawn Michaels is heading up NXT. The Performance Center is also littered with former stars working as coaches either on a full-time or occasional basis, while William Regal remains a key figure in recruitment.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that another name can be added to that list. According to Meltzer, Sean Waltman has been working with WWE ID talent to help them improve.
Sean Waltman is working with the company watching videos of the ID talent and giving them advice on where they should improve and what they should keep.
Sean Waltman Expected Triple H To Take Senior WWE Role
During a recent interview, Sean Waltman reflected on Triple H’s rise through the WWE ranks into senior management. The veteran suggested that the key to his friend’s success was an ability to play the long game and ride out the rough moments that came his way.
Waltman added that he always expected The Game to eventually take a management position as he was already involved in creative meetings as far back as the late 1990s. The WWE Hall of Famer said it quickly became clear then-boss Vince McMahon trusted his ideas, and the pair enjoyed working together.
