WWE Legend Offered Role In Road House 2
A former WWE favourite might have landed a new movie role.
According to a new report from Deadline, WWE legend Dave Bautista has been offered a role in Road House 2. However, formal talks between the star formerly known as Batista and Amazon MGM Studios are yet to begin.
The new movie, which will be directed by Guy Ritchie, will see Jake Gyllenhaal reprise his role as Dalton. The script will be written by Will Beall and produced by Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven and Alex Gartner, Gyllenhaal’s Nine Stories Productions, with Josh McLaughlin and Ivan Atkinson signed up as executive producers.
The 2024 Doug Liman reboot of the 1980s cult title Road House world premiered at SXSW. In the movie, Dalton takes a job as a bouncer at a Florida Keys roadhouse, only to discover that this paradise is not all it seems. On Prime Video, Road House pulled in 50 million-plus viewers over its first two weekends.
Dave Bautista Won’t Make In-Ring WWE Return
In an interview back in August 2024, Dave Bautista said he won’t be returning to the ring because he doesn’t want to tarnish that perfect ending. The sure-fire Hall of Famer admitted that while he misses the energy of the crowd performing in front of thousands, he’s content with leaving that life behind.
Bautista hasn’t wrestled since being defeated by Triple H at WrestleMania 35 in 2019. The wrestler-turned-actor personally requested the bout with his long-time friend, and saw it as a retirement match, even though this wasn’t acknowledged at the time.
