WWE Legend Offers Support To Bayley After WrestleMania Snub
A WWE Hall of Famer is a huge fan of Bayley.
On the countdown show ahead of night one of WrestleMania 41, Bayley was attacked backstage, and Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez quickly denied they were involved. The star had been due to team with Lyra Valkyria to challenge Morgan and Rodriguez for the Women’s Tag Team Championship.
As a result of the attack, the former Women’s Champion was pulled from the event, with Valkyria given 24 hours to find a replacement.
Fast forward to night two, and as many expected, Becky Lynch was revealed as Bayley’s replacement, and she and Valkyria went on to win the Women’s Tag Team Titles.
Steve Austin Is A Fan Of Bayley
Since the star was removed from the event, there has been an outpouring of support online from fans and from fellow wrestlers.
After Mercedes Mone sent a message on social media during the weekend, Steve Austin gave his own glowing assessment of the star. In response to an Instagram post quoting comments from Bayley, where she admitted not feeling on the level of Charlotte Flair or Becky Lynch, Austin tipped the star for the Hall of Fame.
Very humble. Class act. Future Hall of Famer. That’s the bottom line,
According to a new report, it was Becky Lynch who pitched her return storyline, including winning the Tag Team Championship and then turning on Valkyria. However, it’s unclear whether part of her plan included losing the titles right back to Morgan and Rodriguez, or simply vacating them after the attack.
The report reiterated that Lynch will be presented as a heel moving forward. It’s been speculated that Lynch could team up with her husband, Seth Rollins, Paul Heyman, and Bron Breakker, as part of a new heel faction, but that remains just a rumour at present.
