WWE Legend Allegedly Set To Suffer Defeat In Match Against Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes WWE

Cody Rhodes is allegedly bound for a huge victory over a WWE legend.

The American Nightmare has been chosen as the face of the new era in the Stamford-based company. He held the Undisputed WWE Championship for over a year before he dropped the title to John Cena at WrestleMania 41.

Rhodes will now have a chance to challenge for the title again if he wins the King of the Ring tournament. However, that would not be an easy task as he would go head-to-head with his mentor, Randy Orton, in the final tonight at WWE Night of Champions.

Speaking on The Wrestling Time Machine, NWA Hall of Famer Bill Apter pointed out that although The Viper might be on his best run right now, he would suffer defeat against Rhodes.

Randy Orton is better than he ever was right now. His mean streak is incredible. His interviews are incredible. His ring work is incredible. But but I can’t see them going with him. I have a feeling that the King of the Ring will be The American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes.

Ex-Writer Thinks Randy Orton Will Beat Cody Rhodes At WWE Night Of Champions

On his Wrestling with Freddie podcast, former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. predicted that Randy Orton would be the one emerging victorious in the King of the Ring final.

The Hollywood star explained his prediction, claiming that Cody Rhodes would dethrone John Cena in the latter’s final WWE match. Hence, he cannot win King of the Ring and face The Franchise Player at SummerSlam.

I don’t think Cena’s time is done yet. He isn’t losing this until he walks away and it’s either going to be with the title which would be cold as ice. They’re never going to do that cause they’d say, ‘it weakens the title’, or it’ll be his final match and then he’ll lose it to Cody. So, I don’t think Cody can win the entire tournament. I think they are going to lead themselves into a Randy Orton victor and get him closer to his story of 15 world championships.

While Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes are set to clash at Night of Champions, John Cena will defend his Undisputed WWE Title against CM Punk on the same PLE in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
