WWE Legend Joked With Triple H About Comeback During Backlash
One WWE Hall of Famer is still reeling from Backlash.
Hot off the back of a record-setting WrestleMania, WWE headed to France for Backlash. The show was the first-ever Premium Live Event to be held in the country, and fans made sure it was one to remember.
While there weren’t many surprises in the ring, the 11,000-strong crowd, sang their hearts out with several Superstars visibly thrown by the huge reactions.
Speaking on his Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash said he was so impressed with the crowd he even joked with Triple H about taking a bump.
“My whole thing is, when you do determine that you’re gonna watch it, and you do watch it, when you watch it, you say to yourself, ‘Is it really that f*cking loud? Or is it because I didn’t watch it live, and they superimposed this?’ Because it’s so unbelievably loud.
So I text Paul [Levesque]. I said, ‘Wow, like f*ck.’ I believe the statement I made to Paul was, ‘That crowd was so alive that it made a 64-year-old man want to take a bump.’ Paul responded to me [with], ‘We could not hear each other in Gorilla Position.’
So, okay, Backlash might not have been the most-bought pay-per-view, but anybody that watched it and saw the optics of how f*cking live that show was, I mean….,
WWE Making Production Changes
It’s been reported WWE is pushing to make the crowd reactions seen at Backlash the norm.
According to Fightful Select, the crowd reactions to Jey Uso have been incredibly well-received within WWE, and the production team will be pushing fans to follow the lead of those in Lyon going forward.
