WWE Legend Embarrassed Brock Lesnar In Front Of Locker Room

Brock Lesnar WWE Smirk

Brock Lesnar hasn’t always had things his own way.

Back in 2000, WWE moved quickly to secure the signature of the highly-rated Brock Lesnar. At the time, Lesnar had just wrapped up a glittering collegiate wrestling career, which saw him establish himself as one of the top amateur prospects in the country.

Lesnar’s size and freakish athleticism immediately set him apart, and by the time SummerSlam 2002 went off the air, he’d beaten The Rock to become WWE Undisputed Champion.

However, WWE was littered with top-class athletes and amateur wrestlers, and arguably none were tougher than Kurt Angle. Not only had Angle starred in high school and in college, but he also famously won an Olympic gold medal with a “broken freaking neck!”

WWE Legend Quickly Got The Better Of Brock Lesnar

During an appearance on the Games With Names podcast, Ric Flair recalled Lesnar challenging Angle backstage. Flair said that Angle quickly took Lesnar down three times in the ring and the whole locker room looked on.

“I watched Kurt Angle take down Brock three times. Nobody was as tough as Angle.

Brock had his gear on, but Kurt was barefoot. He goes to Angle, ‘You could never take me down.’ So, of course, the ring was loaded with the whole company watching. Boom. Kurt took him down three times in a row. Kurt was like a cat man. He was so fast.”

The comments from Flair come as Arn Anderson told the story elsewhere of Kurt Angle putting a young John Cena in his place during a match. According to Anderson, Angle “kicked the dog sh*t” out of Cena for disrespecting him during a match.

During this period, Anderson had been charged with producing Cena’s matches and developing him into a top star.
