WWE Legend Officially Confirms New Deal With Company
One WWE legend has revealed how they were unexpectedly offered a deal to officially rejoin the company.
Legends deals have become commonplace for former WWE stars as the company keeps them as part of their extended family while continuing to produce merchandise and make money from them even though they’re no longer active in the ring.
One name who has reappeared recently on WWE television as a featured guest at Saturday Night’s Main Event and NXT shows is former WWE Women’s Champion, Leilani Kai. Kai won that gold from Wendi Richter in early 1985 before Richter reclaimed her title at the first-ever WrestleMania.
Kai went on to greater success with Judy Martin as The Glamour Girls, with the team being recognised as two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. At WrestleMania 10, Kai was in action again as she failed to dethrone Alundra Blayze for the WWE Women’s Championship.
And now Kai is back in the WWE family.
Leilani Kai Signs WWE Deal
Speaking with 1Wrestling, Leilani Kai explained how her new deal with WWE came about:
I had, finally, my surgery on my hip – I’m still not over it yet – but I was in the hospital, and after my surgery a couple of days later, they called me and asked if they could take care of my hospital bill or if there’s anything they can do. I told them no, I was taken care of, I was fine, and then they told me they wanted me to join their family.
I was surprised, I never expected it to happen. It was one of Triple H’s assistants, his name is Ben Brown. [h/t WrestleTalk]
Ben Brown has featured in some on-screen WWE content in his role as an archivist for the company.
