WWE Legend Thinks Bobby Lashley’s Boxing Switch Is A Mistake

Bobby Lashley

Is Bobby Lashley making the right move?

On August 16th, Bobby Lashley was removed from the official WWE roster, officially ending his second run with the company. Lashley returned to WWE in 2018 after a 10-year absence, and he went on to become a two-time World Champion while winning the Intercontinental Title twice and the United States Title twice.

There’s been a great deal of speculation around Lashley’s future and he immediately became one of the industry’s most highly sought-after free agents. However, for his next challenge, Lashley is stepping outside of the squared circle.

Prior to his exit, Lashley revealed he’s going to try his hand at boxing, confirming he’s set to face an unnamed opponent in Las Vegas.

Bobby Lashley’s Career Switch Under The Microscope

Despite the intrigue around Lashley’s boxing switch, Booker T isn’t so sure. During a recent episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker said a hypothetical match against Jake Paul would be a mistake, and said if he could he’d advise Lashley to “do something else.”

“I like Bobby, but if you want to go get knocked out, go fight Jake Paul. Doesn’t matter [that he’s bigger] one bit. [Lashley is] older, slower, as well as he hasn’t been training to be a boxer. Boxing is not something you play, as real as it possible could be. If I was advising Bobby Lashley, I would advise him, ‘Bro. Do something else.'”

Although Lashley has never competed in boxing competitively, he has extensive MMA experience with a record of 17 fights with 15 wins with 2 defeats across stints with Bellator and Strikeforce among others. His most recent fight took place in October 2016 when he defeated Josh Appelt via submission at Bellator 162.
