Massive WWE Legend Makes Shocking Appearance At AEW WrestleDream
At AEW WrestleDream 2025, Darby Allin and Jon Moxley faced off in a brutal “I Quit” match in the main event of the night. The bout delivered an intense, 25-minute war filled with violence and high drama.
Allin opened with a dropkick and a suicide dive, but Moxley quickly used a steel chain wrapped around his fist to inflict severe punishment, including choking Allin and jamming skewers into his fingers. The fans voiced their anger at Moxley with chants of “F**k you, Moxley.”
The battle intensified as Moxley whipped Allin relentlessly with a leather belt and executed punishing moves like a piledriver and German suplexes. Allin countered by spraying lighter fluid into Moxley’s eyes and onto the other Death Riders interfering in the match. Despite Moxley repeatedly trying to drown Allin in a water-filled fish tank in the ring, Allin wouldn’t quit.
WWE Legend Sting Shows Up to Help Darby Allin at AEW WrestleDream
The match took a shocking turn when the arena lights went out, and upon returning, legendary wrestler Sting appeared with his iconic bat, attacking Moxley and the Death Riders. The Franchise cleared the ring, helping Allin to recover.
With Sting’s help, Allin seized the momentum, striking Moxley with a bat and landing his signature moves, including the Scorpion Death Drop and Coffin Drop. Finally, Allin locked in the Scorpion Deathlock in the ring, forcing Moxley to say “I quit.”

The Stinger retired from wrestling at AEW Revolution in March 2024, where he teamed with Darby Allin. In that match, they defeated The Young Bucks to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championship, marking a memorable conclusion to Sting’s active wrestling career.
WrestleDream wasn’t the first time the WWE legend showed up in AEW to help his former tag team partner. The Icon made a surprise return at AEW All In in London on August 25, 2024, at Wembley Stadium to aid Allin during his coffin match against Jack Perry.
