WWE Lay Bare Sami Zayn’s Serious Injuries After Attack

The full extent of Sami Zayn’s injuries has been laid bare after Kevin Owens turned on his old friend once again.

Kevin Owens turned on Cody Rhodes after Rhodes teamed with Roman Reigns back at Bad Blood. Owens was furious given his own issues with Reigns and The Bloodline over the years and couldn’t live with his friend putting those issues to the side to stand side-by-side with The Tribal Chief.

However, Sami Zayn did the same as Orton but Owens proved to be more forgiving to his oldest friend in the wrestling business. Owens encouraged Zayn to help him out in his Undisputed WWE Championship match against Cody Rhodes at the Royal Rumble. If Kevin Owens was champion and Zayn won the Royal Rumble then the two men could main event WrestleMania together one more time.

But that’s not going to happen. Owens lost to Rhodes and Zayn could only watch as Owens suffered a brutal Alabama Slam through a ladder before Rhodes retrieved his title. And that’s caused Owens to snap again.

On the February 3 edition of Raw, Sami Zayn had the chance to qualify for the Elimination Chamber when he faced CM Punk. Punk picked up the win but worse was to come for Sami Zayn. Kevin Owens viciously assaulted Zayn from behind before dropping him with a sickening package piledriver. The same move that recently put Randy Orton on the shelf.

Sami Zayn Suffering Back & Nerve Issues

Sami Zayn has been ruled out of WWE indefinitely and now on the February 10 edition of Raw, Michael Cole has detailed Zayn’s apparent injuries. Cole noted Zayn had suffered “spinal contusion” and “extreme nerve damage” as a result of Kevin Owen’s assault.

These injuries are believed to be purely part of the storyline but it remains to be seen when Sami Zayn will return to WWE TV.
