WWE Star Removed From Last Time Is Now Tournament Due To Injury

A big-name WWE superstar won’t be able to continue in the Last Time Is Now Tournament due to an unfortunate injury.

The Last Time Is Now Tournament is a 16-man tournament where one man will earn the right to face John Cena in his final match at the December 13th WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event special from Washington, D.C.

In the first six matches of the Last Time Is Now Tournament, the results were as follows:

  • Rusev defeated Damian Priest
  • Sheamus defeated Shinsuke Nakamura
  • Jey Uso defeated The Miz
  • LA Knight defeated Zack Ryder
  • Solo Sikoa defeated Dolph Ziggler
  • Gunther defeated Je’Von Evans

Unfortunately for Sheamus, he is dealing with a shoulder injury, and WWE has announced that he won’t be in the tournament moving forward.

BREAKING NEWS: Due to a shoulder injury, @WWESheamus is not medically cleared to continue competition in The Last Time is Now Tournament.

WWE Will Continue Last Time Is Now Tournament On SmackDown During A Double Taping

At tonight’s November 21st episode of WWE SmackDown in Denver, two more matches will take place in the first round of the Last Time Is Now Tournament.

  • Carmelo Hayes vs. Bronson Reed
  • Penta vs. Finn Balor

As mentioned above, they will also address the Sheamus injury and whether he will be replaced in the tournament by another wrestler, or if his next opponent will just move ahead to the next round.

The WWE SmackDown taping in Denver will be a double taping, with the company also taping the November 28th episode, which airs one night after Thanksgiving in the US. That will give WWE superstars some time off to be with their families for the US Thanksgiving holiday.
