WWE Hall Of Famer Ponders LA Knight’s Position Following Big Returns
The rise of LA Knight in WWE has been a big story in 2023 as a Hall of Famer wonders if the Megastar will be hurt by recent returns to the company.
There were two WWE Premium Live Events in November 2023. The first one on November 4th was Crown Jewel featuring Roman Reigns defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against LA Knight. Reigns got the win thanks to an assist from Jimmy Uso. Since then, Knight has made it clear that he still has The Bloodline in his sights.
At WWE Survivor Series on November 25th, LA Knight wasn’t even on the card unless you want to count an appearance in a Slim Jim commercial. The focus of that show was on Randy Orton leading his team to a WarGames match victory while CM Punk also returned to WWE after nearly ten years away.
Teddy Long is a WWE Hall Of Famer who has been a part of the wrestling business in many roles for over 40 years. While speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling, Long stated that he thinks LA Knight will still be involved in storylines even with Orton in the mix on Smackdown and Punk back in WWE.
“I don’t think it’ll just be the Randy Orton and CM Punk show. I think everybody will be involved, but just maybe Randy and CM Punk might be the highlight of the night
“Randy and Punk are established, okay? They’re a brand. LA Knight is trying to get there. So I don’t think that’ll hurt him at all. I think anything they do with LA Knight, if he goes with Punk or Randy, the only thing it’s going to do is elevate him. It’s going to help him.”
While Randy Orton recently signed with WWE SmackDown, CM Punk will make his decision on what brand he wants to be on during the December 11th edition of Raw.
Randy Orton And LA Knight Beat The Bloodline On WWE SmackDown
In the main event of WWE SmackDown on December 8th, Randy Orton & LA Knight defeated The Bloodline’s Jimmy Uso & Solo Sikoa when Orton pinned Jimmy after an RKO.
What was interesting about the finish of the match is that Knight went for his BFT move only for Orton to grab Jimmy instead and finish off Jimmy with the RKO. Knight wasn’t the legal man, so Orton made the right move, but it does show that Orton is as savvy as ever.
