Johnny Gargano has commented on an awful incident that happened to his father’s business.

The WWE life of Smackdown superstar Johnny Gargano is going well. The July 5th edition of Smackdown in Toronto saw #DIY’s Johnny Gargano & Tomasso Ciampa capture the WWE Tag Team Titles from the A-Town Down Under team of Austin Theory & Grayson Waller.

What made the title win so unique for Gargano & Ciampa is that they also won the NXT Tag Team Titles in Toronto in 2016 in the same building.

Sadly, Johnny Gargano’s father has run a restaurant in Cleveland, Ohio and that restaurant was engulfed in flames in a huge fire on Sunday, July 21st.

Local Cleveland media covered the fire reporting that multiple businesses went up in flames while one Cleveland firefighter was hospitalized, but is expected to be okay.

It was reported by Cleveland 19 that nearly 70 firefighters spent three hours battling the fire. There were also issues with a roof collapsing as well. They did manage to protect businesses on both sides of Gargano’s restaurant, one of which is a gas station.

Johnny Gargano Devastated By Loss Of Father’s Restaurant

In a post on Twitter/X, Johnny Gargano addressed the fire. Johnny noted his father is 82 years old and still working at the restaurant because it was his life’s work. Now that same restaurant is essentially gone due to a devastating fire.

“I figured I should touch on this because people are finding out, and I know a lot of wrestling fans were looking forward to going to my Dad’s restaurant when they were in Cleveland for Summerslam.”

“Last night, there was a fire, and my Dad’s restaurant was badly damaged. I’m grateful that my Dad was not there and is okay. He is 82 years old, this is his life’s work. He has worked in that building every day for almost 50 years. I basically grew up there.. and now it’s just gone. It is extremely heartbreaking for my family.”

As mentioned by Gargano above, Cleveland is hosting SummerSlam on August 3rd and many wrestling fans likely would have visited that restaurant. They likely won’t be able to do that now.
