WWE Star Promises Heartbreaking End To John Cena’s Retirement Match

WWE John Cena

John Cena will retire this Saturday.

On December 13, The Last Real Champion will wear his jorts for one last time in his final WWE match against Gunther on Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, DC.

Ahead of the epic clash, Cena’s opponent, Gunther, sat down for an interview on ESPN’s The Rich Eisen Show, where he addressed his upcoming bout with the former Intercontinental Champion.

Gunther compared Cena’s WWE career to a book and stated that he’ll write the last chapter and make sure Cena’s story ends in heartbreak.

In other words, The Ring General wants to humiliate Cena in front of the fans in his last WWE match.

Let’s compare it to a book. The last chapter will be written on Saturday. It’s just a question.

Is it going to be a happy ending or is it going to be a heartbreak? And I’m going to do everything in my power that it’s going to be a heartbreak. (From 0:43)

Gunther Didn’t Like Seeing John Cena In WWE

In another interview with ESPN’s First Take, Gunther revealed that he never liked John Cena in WWE and always hated seeing him wrestling in his signature jorts.

I can only speak for myself. I haven’t really — I’ve shook hands with him twice. I haven’t had any other interactions with him otherwise.

I just remember when I started wrestling, 20 years ago now, I remember that I hated the guy in jorts on TV week by week, and I always thought it doesn’t belong in the ring.

I’m a big purist and traditionalist. John Cena is definitely the greatest sports entertainer of all time, but I’m the greatest pro wrestler right now. That’s going to be the conflict. H/t to Fightful
