Only One WWE Star May Force John Cena To Postpone Retirement

WWE legend believes one particular WWE star could convince John Cena to postpone his retirement. The star in question is The Rock.

The Brahma Bull and Cena have one of the most iconic rivalries of all time. Earlier this year, they started a program together where the fans saw Cena sell his soul to The Rock to turn heel, but the storyline never saw its end.

Cena is getting ready to hang up his boots next on Saturday Night’s Main Event. He has promised that he’ll never step inside the ring to wrestle again. But WWE legend Bully Ray thinks The Rock may force Cena to wrestle one more time.

Bully Ray Wants The Rock To Retire John Cena At WrestleMania 42 In Las Vegas

Ray believes that Cena’s farewell ending at SNME seems too dull. The legendary star deserves a proper sendoff, and it should be at WWE’s grandest stage. WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas against The Rock.

Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, Ray predicted a scenario where Rock could show up during Cena’s retirement bout and demand a match at Mania next year.

“But if we could use Saturday Night’s Main Event as a jumping point into something that’s going to move us into the future, like Brock Lesnar and Gunther, I don’t have a problem with that. [But] I also am not taking my $1 bet off the table that I made a long time ago.

For some reason, I don’t think this ends in Washington, D.C. for John Cena. And I would not be shocked if in the midst of all of the happy, happy, joy, joy, [Rock’s theme song] ‘If you smell what The Rock is cooking [plays].’

I’ve said this before, it just doesn’t sound right — John Cena, last match, Washington, D.C., Saturday Night’s Main Event. What sounds right is John Cena, last match, WrestleMania, Las Vegas.”

Cena will face Gunther at SNME next week on Saturday. The Ring General emerged victorious over LA Knight in the Last Time Is Now tournament finals to become Cena’s retirement opponent.
