Which WWE & AEW Stars Did John Cena And AJ Styles Pay Homage To At Crown Jewel
John Cena and AJ Styles put on an incredible match at WWE Crown Jewel, where they used the moves of some of their biggest rivals.
At WWE Crown Jewel, future Hall of Famers John Cena and AJ Styles faced off in what WWE billed as their final match together.
Cena and Styles are both 48 years old, and they have each made it clear they are retiring soon. Cena only has a few more appearances left before his December retirement, and Styles made it clear on Friday that he was going to retire in 2026.
During their Crown Jewel match, Cena and Styles paid tributes to the wrestlers who influenced them throughout their careers by hitting moves that those wrestlers made famous.
Here’s a rundown of some of the moves that Cena did during the match that were done to honor wrestlers from the past.

* Sister Abigail by Bray Wyatt.
* Chokeslam by Big Show.
* Accolade by Rusev.
* Walls of Jericho by Chris Jericho
* RKO by Randy Orton.
* Tombstone by The Undertaker.
Cena also teased doing the 619 by Rey Mysterio because the crowd chanted for it, but Styles was able to avoid it, so the move did not connect.
AJ Styles Hit John Cena With Moves By Some TNA Legends, WWE Greats, And AEW Stars
In addition to Cena hitting some moves from his most famous rivals, AJ Styles also busted out some moves from wrestlers familiar to him.
* Coquina Clutch by Samoa Joe
* Angel’s Wings by Christopher Daniels.
* Fade to Black by Frankie Kazarian
* Scorpion Death Drop by Sting.
* Sweet Chin Music by Shawn Michaels.
AJ Styles never got to wrestle Shawn Michaels, but when he hit the Sweet Chin Music, it drew a monstrous pop from the crowd.
The ending of the match saw Styles leap off the turnbuckle, Cena caught him, and hit The Undertaker’s Tombstone to a thunderous ovation. Cena followed up with the Attitude Adjustment for the win.

After the match, John Cena picked up AJ Styles. They shook hands and hugged. They raised each other’s hands and saluted the crowd, who cheered. Styles left the ring to let Cena celebrate.
