WWE’s Jade Cargill Set For Acting Debut Opposite Jonathan Majors
Jade Cargill has landed the biggest non-wrestling role of her career.
According to a new report from Deadline, Jade Cargill is set to star opposite Jonathan Majors in the new action-thriller True Threat.
The movie, set in Harlem, is directed by Gerard McMurray and produced by Alexis Garcia’s CAT5 with Charlamagne Tha God, Basil Iwanyk, and Karen Kinney’s Southland Stories. The project is set to begin production in the fall.
You can find a short synopsis and information on Cargill’s role below.
True Threat follows Special Forces operative Vernon Threat (Majors), who returns home seeking justice after his teenage son is murdered by Harlem’s Apollo Kids gang. Threat infiltrates The Carter, a 20-story project building controlled by the gang, and fights his way floor by floor and boss by boss toward a confrontation with its leader and his former mentor, Shallow.
Cargill will play Meeka, a key lieutenant in the Apollo Kids and one of the film’s central antagonists. Meeka controls the building’s red light district and operates as a power broker inside The Carter. The role will showcase Cargill in an intense, physical and highly stylized performance space that builds on her athletic background.
The production team added that Cargill is exactly the kind of “dynamic talent” they’re looking to work with.
Jade Cargill Set For Starring Role At WWE Evolution
Back in the ring, it’s been reported that Jade Cargill is in line for a major match at Evolution 2. As noted in the report, Cargill is set for a “major push” heading into the event in order to help sell tickets, before clashing with Naomi on the big night.
Cargill beat Naomi at WrestleMania 41, but Naomi went on to win the women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. There had been earlier suggestions that Cargill would face Charlotte Flair in one of the event’s headline bouts.
