WWE Interested In Signing Top AEW Tag Team

WWE’s men’s tag team division across all brands is stacked.

The Bloodline, Street Profits, The New Day, and The Judgment Day are a few top-tier teams representing RAW and SmackDown.

That has not stopped the Stamford-based company from seeking new talent, and it may have found its next target.

This time around, the WWE executives are looking at rivals AEW, and the team in their sights is Private Party.

Private Party comprises Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen, who have previously held the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

As reported by Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer, their contracts are up “very soon”.

Their last appearance in AEW was in January 2025. While fans have wondered if any injury has kept the pair from appearing on live TV, that does to seem to be the case.

In fact, sources report that the duo has taken time off and even worked in the independent circuits, most recently in March.

WWE Monitoring Private Party’s Contract Negotiations Closely

Since June, WWE has been closely monitoring potential contract negotiations involving Private Party.

According to Fightful Select, WWE had “preliminary interest” in Private Party even before they knew that the AEW team’s contract would expire.

AEW has not disclosed details about any deals with Kassidy or Quen. So, as of this moment, it is unclear whether the company would let the wrestlers walk away or offer them a fresh contract.

It is also still unclear if the former AEW Tag Team Champion were approached by WWE.

Private Party’s most accomplished feat in AEW is beating The Young Bucks for the tag team championships on the October 30 Dynamite episode.

They held the title for 84 days before losing it to the Hurt Syndicate on January 22, 2025.
