WWE Tease Huge Championship Split At WrestleMania

WWE is making moves to shake up the title scene in the company with a major rule change revealed for one massive WrestleMania match.

At WrestleMania 40, The Judgment Day’s Damian Priest and Finn Balor will put their WWE Tag Team Championship on the line against five other teams in a ladder match. The New Day, #DIY, A-Town Down Under, New Catch Republic, and Awesome Truth will all get the chance to win gold on the grandest stage of them all and now it seems they’ll have a better chance than first thought.

Since May 2022 when The Usos defeated RK-Bro, the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships have been merged to form the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Title that Balor and Priest currently hold. But it seems a split could be on the way.

WWE Title Split On The Way?

Michael Cole confirmed on Raw in Brooklyn, New York that the ladder match will have all four title belts hanging above the ring but they are to be pulled down one set at a time. Once the first pair of title belts has been pulled down, the match will continue until the second pair has been retrieved.

While it’s possible that the same team could climb the ladder twice to claim both sets of titles, it seems the clarification could be to ensure that the championships are split once again.
