WWE Hits Back At Sami Zayn Reports

Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn has been the focal point of WWE in the last few months through his involvement with The Bloodline but since he did not capture a place in the WrestleMania main event that many feel he had earned, there had been suggestions he’s not seen as a top guy within the company.

Sami Zayn finally had enough of Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble when he slammed a chair into Reigns’ back after The tribal Chief demanded he use the weapon to finish off Kevin Owens.

The noise when Zayn finally flattened Reigns in San Antonio was deafening with the fans firmly behind Sami Zayn despite his recent allegiance to The Bloodline. That support continued in his hometown of Montreal when he came a hair’s breadth away from dethroning Reigns as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

Zayn’s feud with Reigns has now moved on to his issues with The Usos with he and Kevin Owens set to take on the brothers for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 39.

Reports in recent weeks had suggested that neither Triple H nor Vince McMahon saw Sami Zayn as a potential WrestleMania headliner and that there was never serious consideration to having him headline WrestleMania.

Now Fightful Select has reported that a WWE “higher up” has taken issue with those reports. They noted that Zayn has been the “focal point of our biggest shows” and has the “1B biggest storyline in the company.” It was also stated that it was no accident that Elimination Chamber was scheduled for Zayn’s hometown and that anyone who suggests that the company doesn’t see him as a top guy either doesn’t watch the show or is “fabricating things.”
