WWE Hall Of Famer Won’t Wrestle Again

WWE Hall Of Famer Responds To Accusations That They Politicked Their Way To World Title

A WWE Hall of Famer is determined to stay retired.

Although he’d spent several years around the industry and on television, Diamond Dallas Page didn’t make his in-ring debut until he was 35. But despite that late start, Page quickly rose to become one of the biggest stars in WCW, and eventually World Champion.

DDP captured the hearts and minds of fans and became beloved as the company began to crumble around him.

After an underwhelming run with WWE, Page all but retired in 2002, although he did wrestle on a semi-regular basis with TNA in 2005. However, it’s now been four years since the star stepped in the ring, and it seems he’s content to keep it that way.

During an interview with Alistair McGeorge for The Metro, Page dismissed the idea that he’d got more matches left in him. The veteran said a Diamond Cutter here and there wasn’t out of the question, but he’s got no plans to wrestle a full match.

“My life is so full I don’t have time for any of that,” DDP said. “I’m five months from 69 years young. My body – I’m still a Ferrari. I just got nine or 98,000 miles on me [laughs]. So you know, are there a couple of diamond cutters in me? Yeah – and if they ever need it, I’m there. But as far as match, I’m good.”

DDP Missed Out On Match With WWE Legend

Elsewhere during the conversation, DDP admitted a match with The Rock was one that got away. Page recalled a run-in with the Hollywood megastar where they joked about there only being room for one People’s Champion.

The veteran noted that if the match would have come to fruition, his life and career would likely have gone in a very different direction.

While DDP has no desire to get back in the ring, speculation continues to swirl around The Rock. The star has long been linked with a WrestleMania 41 match against Cody Rhodes, but there have now been reports that he could miss the event.

In response to the speculation, Rhodes said he knows what to expect when The Rock does come back, telling fans to expect the unexpected.
