WWE Hall Of Famer Tips Wade Barrett To Make In-Ring Return

Wade Barrett

Wade Barrett has been urged to return to in-ring competition by WWE Hall Of Famer, John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield.

Former five-time WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett last competed in a WWE ring back in 2016, teaming with Sheamus in an unsuccessful attempt to pry the WWE Tag Team Championship from the grasps of New Day duo Kofi Kingston and Big E on the 4th April edition of Raw.

Barrett originally made his name in WWE as the leader of Nexus, competing at the top of the card against the likes of John Cena, before going to win over fans in the popular ‘Bad News Barrett’ persona. The British star would also be crowned as King Of The Ring in April 2015 but moved behind the commentary desk thereafter where he can currently be found on Monday night’s alongside partner Joe Tessitore.

A return to the ring has been speculated in recent months, however, with one former WWE Champion throwing his support behind a return for the Brit.

Speaking recently on ‘Huge Pop!’, Layfield share his belief that Barrett should step back into the ring whilst he is still able to, noting that there was plenty of years ahead to resume his commentary career:

“He’s still young. He was a good worker. Yeah, I think he probably will. If I were him, do it.

You have all of your life to do commentary. You don’t have all your life to get into the ring. If I’m him, if you still have the urge, just try it. If it doesn’t work out, so what, go back to commentary. If it does, you’ve got something, and then go back to commentary.”

Wade Barrett Reveals Terms Of Potential WWE In-Ring Return

If Barrett were to return to the squared circle, he has made it very clear about the circumstances in which the return would take place.

The former leader of ‘The Corre’ has revealed that a main event bout with long-time friend Drew McIntyre at London’s Wembley Stadium would lure him back to competetive action.
