WWE Hall Of Famer Vows To Stand By Hulk Hogan
A WWE Hall of Famer has come to the defence of Hulk Hogan.
Hulk Hogan’s controversial 2025 continued on May 6, when he was called out by Shelton Benjamin on social media.
The AEW star took aim at Hogan after the veteran repeatedly got his name wrong in an interview. Benjamin used the opportunity to blast Hogan for his non-apology for using racist language in 2018.
During a visit backstage to repair the damage caused by Hogan’s racist comments in a video leaked in 2015, it’s been widely claimed that instead of apolgising, Hogan warned people about being secretly recorded.
Hulk Hogan Has A Friend In Eric Bischoff
During an appearance on Keepin’ It 100 with Konnan and Disco, Eric Bischoff declined to get into the specifics of Benjamin’s comments, but reiterated that he’ll stand by Hogan. Bischoff added that he’s proud to be Hogan’s friend, and they’ve now been close for 30 years.
“I don’t know how they feel. I don’t want to try to characterize how they feel but clearly they’re not satisfied and they reacted accordingly … It’s not hard for me to address this Konnan because he’s my friend.
What’s hard is because I know it doesn’t really matter what I say … I’m proud to be Hulk Hogan’s friend and I know him, I’ve known him for almost 30 years. I’ve been with him in every conceivable situation.
I’ve seen him go out of his way to make people, who might otherwise be surprised, that if it’s a minority, especially if you can tell for whatever reason the environment you’re in, or the fundraiser you’re participating in, if it’s for underprivileged kids especially of any persuasion or race, I’ve seen him.”
On April 30, it was announced that Hulk Hogan had partnered with Eric Bischoff and Izzy Martinez to launch Real American Freestyle Wrestling. The fledgling promotion is set to hold its inaugural event on August 30.
Meanwhile, it was reported that Hulk Hogan underwent a “neck fusion procedure” on May 14, but he was back working 24 hours later.
