Despite his very public retirement, one WWE Hall of Famer is adamant that Vince McMahon is still pulling the strings in the company he led for four decades.
In July 2022 the wrestling world was stunned when Vince McMahon announced that he was to step down as Chairman of WWE and retire. Famously a workaholic, many thought that McMahon would never willingly step away from WWE, and his retirement came amid an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct and ‘hush money’ payments made to former company employees.
WWE recently confirmed the full cost of that investigation into McMahon and also reiterated that the investigation is now complete and it looks like Vince McMahon will not be back in an official role.
Speaking to Sportskeeda, WWE Hall of Famer Bushwhacker Luke stated his view that after so long at the top of WWE, he thinks Vince McMahon is bound to be still involved somewhere in the shadows:
“I don’t think it’s hurt them [WWE] very much. The daughter was always there, Hunter was always there. They know Vince inside out. And I still think Vince is sitting behind the scenes. He’s been in the business since the late 70s or 80s, working for his dad and then taking over. I think, how could he let it go after being there for 43 years? It’s in is blood. He’ll still be there somewhere.”
