WWE Hall Of Famer In Town For Royal Rumble
A WWE Hall of Famer could be stepping back into the ring for a Royal Rumble match.
Whenever the WWE Royal Rumble takes place, fans are eager to see who the surprise entrants are. Those surprise entrants can be a Hall of Famer making a comeback, an NXT wrestler, somebody signed to another company like TNA, or simply a wrestler that we haven’t seen in a WWE ring for many years.
In the world of WWE, people can retire and go away for many years, but we know that anything can happen at any time and anybody can be in a Royal Rumble match.
It was reported earlier in January that WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella was training in the ring for a comeback. Nikki was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2020 with her sister Brie as the Bella Twins, but their induction ceremony took place in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The last time the Bellas stepped into a WWE ring was at the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble. After their WWE deals ended in 2023, the Bellas went back to using their birth names of Nikki and Brie Garcia.
Fightful Select reports that Nikki Bella is in Indianapolis, just one day before the Royal Rumble takes place on January 31st. It’s not known for sure if Nikki is planned for the Women’s Royal Rumble match or if she’s just appearing at the event.
There are many former WWE stars and wrestlers from other promotions in Indianapolis for the Wrestlecon convention and other events in the city.
Nikki Bella Misses Being A Part Of WWE
In the second half of 2024, Nikki Bella went through a highly publicized divorce with her ex-husband Artem Chigvintsev of “Dancing with the Stars” fame. The couple has a young son named Matteo together.
With her divorce behind her, Nikki appeared ringside at WWE’s Raw on Netflix premiere in Los Angeles and got a big ovation from the crowd.
During a recent interview with US Weekly, Nikki spoke about how much she missed being a part of WWE while making it clear she was interested in an in-ring return.
“I’ve missed it for quite a few years. I miss being Nikki Bella. I miss being around that family. I definitely miss being in that ring. When they put me in the crowd that night and to feel the energy and see the Bella Army, whether they were in the crowd or online, it starts to give you these feels.
Going home to WWE, I don’t think people understand, I started at 22. That’s all I ever knew up until a little bit ago. So, that’s been the biggest home for me and to go back and be home and the environment there is so incredible. The women were just, what a great locker room. They were just so awesome and together and one and unity and everyone back there was just so happy. You could tell the energy there right now is just incredible.
I’m like, ‘This is why we paved roads in this industry.’ I feel so blessed to go back and experience it. I’m like, ‘OK, I think I need to experience this more.’ I really love it. I feel like I’ve still got it, so we’ll see.”
Nikki was a full-time WWE superstar from 2008 to 2018 while also starring in the “Total Divas” and “Total Bellas” reality TV shows. She held the Divas Title twice in her career.
