Ted DiBiase WWE Hall of Fame

WWE Hall of Famer “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase has spoken with great admiration about wrestling Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, likening the experience to “being in heaven.”

Speaking on a 2024 episode of his podcast, Everybody’s Got a Pod, Ted DiBiase reminisced about stepping into the ring with Steamboat during a series of WWF house shows in late 1987. Although DiBiase recalled just a single encounter, historical records show the two faced off in seven singles matches between 16 November and 30 December 1987 and crossed paths in a Battle Royal.

Reflecting on their time in the ring, DiBiase said:

“I only had one match with Ricky Steamboat, and, brother, we tore it down. You talk about a guy, I mean, it’s like, for me it was like being in heaven.”

Steamboat, often cited as one of the smoothest and most technically sound wrestlers in history, was renowned for his fluid style and masterful storytelling inside the ring. It is clear from DiBiase’s comments that Steamboat’s abilities left a deep and lasting impression on him.

Although there was a slight factual error regarding the number of matches they had, DiBiase’s comments align with the widespread reverence Steamboat continues to receive from fellow wrestlers. His matches are often held up as prime examples of in-ring excellence, and many, like DiBiase, regard working with Steamboat as a career highlight.

Why Does Ted DiBiase Believe That The Current Day WWE Women’s Division Is Better Than The Men’s?

Ted DiBiase spoke about why he thinks the current WWE Women’s division is better than the Men’s and said that it is due to the female talent being coached by veteran wrestler Fit Finlay. DiBiase praised the Women’s division for the high quality level of matches they are able to perform and thinks that the Men’s division needs a new coach.
