WWE Hall of Famer Afa of The Wild Samoans is on the road to recovery after suffering from pneumonia and two heart attacks.

In a post on Afa’s social media, an update revealed that he was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia before suffering two heart attacks and while he is ok, he’s not completely out of the woods yet:

Update on Afa the Wild Samoan, affectionately known as Pops: Afa was admitted to the hospital last night with pneumonia, but had a mild heart attack upon arrival. Today, he had a second small heart attack and was sent for a heart catheterization. He is doing ok, his spirits are high. He isn’t out of the woods yet, but will be kept in the hospital for a day or two for observation and monitoring. He thanks everyone for their concern, continued love, and prayers.

Who Is WWE Hall Of Famer Afa?

81-year-old Afa Anoa’i is a key figure in the Anoa’i wrestling dynasty and is the father of the late Yokozuna. Afa’s Wild Samoan tag team partner and brother Sika is the father of the late WWE star Rosey and the current WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

The Wild Samoans held the WWE Tag Team Championship three times between 1980 and 1983 with Afa managing The Headshrinkers team in the nineties and also leading them to championship gold.

Afa and Sika both appeared at the 2020 Hell In A Cell to anoint Roman Reigns as The Tribal Chief after Reigns defeated Jey Uso in an ‘I Quit’ Hell In A Cell Match. Roman Reigns’ status as Tribal Chief is under threat as The Rock teases a showdown between the two stars.
