A WWE Hall of Famer brought back a surprising gimmick for OVW’s Nightmare Rumble.

During an appearance for OVW several months ago, Mick Foley was attacked backstage and left a bloody mess by a mystery assailant. The former WWE Champion had not been seen in the promotion since then, but has now come back for revenge, although not in the way fans might have expected.

During the company’s Nightmare Rumble on January 4th, one of Foley’s older gimmicks made a surprise comeback when Dude Love’s music hit. The star grabbed a microphone and revealed that the attacker was OVW’s Jack Vaughn. He then claimed that Foley was still too beat up to confront Vaughn, so had sent The Dude in his place.

He then stormed the ring, causing Vaughn to jump over the top rope and eliminate himself before chasing him around the ring with his “love handle,” Dude Love’s version of Mr. Socko.

WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley Scrapped Plans For One More Death Match

Early in 2024, Mick Foley revealed he wanted to have one more match the following year. Not only that, but he planned it to be a death match. Unfortunately, the star had to scrap those plans after a health scare.

Mick Foley says he suffered a concussion during training and took it as a “wake-up call” that he shouldn’t be trying to fight Father Time and Mother Nature again, instead deciding to stay retired.
