WWE Hall Of Famer Speaks About If They Would Return To Their Former GM Role
WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff shared why he won’t be reviving his “Evil General Manager” character for his upcoming involvement in Major League Wrestling.
Bischoff will handle creative control for MLW’s One-Shot event, scheduled for December 5th in Queens, New York. Known for his polarising roles in WCW and WWE, Bischoff clarified that this appearance will be different. During his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff expressed his excitement for the event and discussed what fans can expect from his role in MLW.
I’m really looking forward to it, it’s going to be an absolute blast. It’s just for fun, folks. It’s just one night and it’s a chance to go in there and leave my fingerprints on the physical product. I’m not just going in to do the evil general manager thing; this is a chance to get involved with production. So it’s good—I can’t wait.
This event marks Bischoff’s return to a backstage role in professional wrestling. His last significant position in WWE ended in 2019, and he briefly appeared on AEW in 2020 as a moderator for a debate between Chris Jericho and Orange Cassidy. That moment marked Bischoff’s first time on TNT since his WCW days, a return that surprised and delighted long-time fans. Since then, he’s made occasional guest appearances, but his role in One-Shot brings him back into the fold creatively.
What Was Ted Turner’s Reaction To WWE’s “Billionaire Ted” Skits According To Eric Bischoff?
Eric Bischoff discussed how Ted Turner reacted to WWE’s “Billionaire Ted” segments and said that Turner, who previously was the head of the Turner Broadcasting System, actually enjoyed the segments, which were intended to make fun of the entrepreneur. Bischoff said that Turner “laughed his ass off” at the segments when Bischoff would show him recordings of the skits.
