WWE Hall Of Famer Wins First Singles Match In Six Years
A WWE legend returned to the ring on January 11th.
While the likes of Goldberg and John Cena will be retiring in 2025, a WCW legend and Hall of Famer kicked off the year by getting back in the ring.
Back in February 2023, Booker T claimed he was retiring after taking part in the Royal Rumble. However, that came with the rather large caveat that he could wrestle on a smaller scale with his own Reality of Wrestling Promotion.
Fast forward almost two years and the 59-year-old NXT announcer proved once again that wrestlers are never truly retired.
Booker T Defeats WWE Hopeful
At Reality Of Wrestling Battle To The Bell, Booker grabbed the win over Zilla Fatu thanks to an assist from TNA star AJ Francis. Although he’s occasionally wrestled in tag team action and took part in the 2023 Royal Rumble, the bout was Booker’s first singles outing since January 2019.
On that occasion, the former World Champion saw off Rex Andrews.
Fatu is the son of late WWE star Umaga who found fame with the sports entertainment giant in the 2000s prior to his untimely death in December 2009.
Back in October, Zilla Fatu claimed he was “destined” to join WWE while paying tribute to Triple H and the company’s creative team. Meanwhile, in August, it was reported that WWE “has their eyes on him” as he continues to progress.
Reality of Wrestling is recognised as a WWE ID school, although there’s no word on whether Fatu will eventually work with the company.
