WWE Hall Of Famer Signs New Legends Deal

Triple H WWE

A WWE legend is back with the company.

On February 20 it was reported by SEScoops’ Dominic DeAngelo that Hacksaw Jim Duggan has signed a new WWE Legends deal.

Duggan hasn’t been under contract with the company for several years, but he’s said to be excited at the new development. As part of the new deal, the former Royal Rumble winner will feature in video games while being part of the company’s Mattel action figure line.

Jim Duggan began his career back in 1979 and briefly stopped off in the WWF before heading to Mid-South Wrestling and later NJPW. Once back in the United States, Duggan signed with the WWF in 1987 and made history as the winner of the first-ever Royal Rumble match a year later.

In late 1994, Duggan moved on to WCW and stayed with the company until it was purchased by the WWF in 2001. The veteran went on to star in the independent scene while appearing for TNA in 2003. However, Duggan was back in the WWE fold two years later, and wrestled several matches before leaving again in 2009.

Following another run on the independent circuit, Duggan was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011 and has continued to make one-off appearances since.

Famous WWE Names Sign Legends Deals

The news on Duggan comes after it was reported that Ax and Smash of Demolition, had signed WWE Legends contracts.

There had been a feeling that Eadie and Darsow would never come back under the WWE umbrella after a legal battle with the company in 1997 over name and gimmick rights. In 2016, the duo was involved in a concussion-related class-action lawsuit against the promotion.

A further report noted that a Hall of Fame induction for Demolition has been discussed.
