WWE Hall Of Famer Signs Another Legends Deal

WWE Hall Of Famer Responds To Accusations That They Politicked Their Way To World Title

WWE is making an increased push to sign former stars to Legends contracts.

It’s been announced that The Honkey Tonk Man has signed a new WWE Legends deal. The veteran who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2019 has signed two such deals in the past.

Honky Tonk Man is best known for his 454-day reign as the Intercontinental Champion which ended in August 1988. The record stood until it was surpassed by Gunther in 2023.

You can find the official statement from Honky Tonk Man’s management team below.

“WWE Hall of Fame legend Honky Tonk Man has officially re-signed a multi-year Legends Deal with WWE, marking his third consecutive contract and continuing a remarkable 15-year nostalgia partnership with the company.

The Honky Tonk Man electrified the ring with unforgettable performances, shaking, rattling, and rolling his way to an astonishing 454-day reign as Intercontinental Champion—one of the longest in WWE history. With Jimmy Hart in his corner and his iconic guitar always within reach, this devious Superstar shattered the rules to ensure his triumphs.

His reign was a spectacle of cunning and charisma, leaving an indelible mark on wrestling history.

For all his accomplishments and impact on professional wrestling and sports entertainment, the Honky Tonk Man was enshrined into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019. Many argue that he was one of the first true sports entertainers, blending athleticism with showmanship in a way that set the standard for future generations.”

Several Veterans Sign WWE Deals

In recent months, several former stars have signed WWE Legends deals. Some of these figures have been away from the company for some time, while others like Honkey Tonk Man have penned updated versions of previous agreements.

In February it was reported that Ax and Smash of Demolition were now signed to Legends contracts sparking speculation they could be heading for the Hall of Fame. However, with the line-up for 2025 complete, the former tag team champions don’t appear.

The likes of Mark Henry, Kelly Kelly, Diamond Dallas Page, and Jim Duggan are among those who have signed similar contracts.
