WWE Hall Of Famer Set For Return (Spoiler)

WWE’s plans for Saturday Night’s Main Event are taking shape.

On December 14th, WWE is bringing back Saturday Night’s Main Event. The special initially launched in 1985, and ran until 1993. However, it was resurrected in 2006, but the experiment was ultimately a failure and the event was scrapped just two years later.

The first special since July 2008 will be headlined by the Undisputed WWE Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. The match was announced after a war of words between the pair on SmackDown.

WWE’s first Women’s United States Champion will also be crowned on the show.

Surprise Appearance Set For WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

As reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Jimmy Hart is set to appear on the show.

Hart first came to the nation’s attention during his time in Memphis where he worked with, and later opposite Jerry Lawler, including during the star’s legendary feud with Andy Kaufman. He eventually went on to have lengthy spells with the WWF and WCW.

The report also noted that WWE is looking to give the special a very old-school feel through live presentation, graphics, and music.

There were reports back in October that Jesse Ventura would be involved due to his association with the show back in the 1980s. The former Governor of Minnesota reconnected with the company earlier in 2024 and eventually signed a Legends deal.

There had been suggestions Gunther vs. Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Title would also be on the show, but that bout has since been confirmed for Survivor Series.
