WWE Hall Of Famer Says Randy Savage Would Be On His Mount Rushmore

In a recent episode of his popular podcast “Kliq This,” WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash shared heart warming memories of his time working alongside the legendary “Macho Man” Randy Savage during their tenure in World Championship Wrestling in 1999. This period marked one of Savage’s final major feuds before he began winding down his full-time wrestling career later that year.

Nash expressed deep admiration for Savage both as a performer and as an individual. He recounted a particularly memorable moment from their WCW rivalry which took place in the Summer of 1999.

I loved working with ‘Mach’. We did a crazy skit where I carried a bag to the ring and set it up on this chair. There was a woman who was a contortionist in this bag and she unzipped it and came out and did a gimmick with Mach. It was pretty cool.

Beyond their on-screen interactions, Nash spoke warmly about Savage’s character outside the ring and how Savage interacted with others, including Nash’s own family.

I absolutely loved him. Randy was one of my favourite human beings I’ve ever met in my life. And my brother got the chance to hang with him a little bit too. Anybody that met him… because you think that’s his persona on television – no man, it’s just dialled up but Randy is always Randy. He was such a unique human being.

Nash’s comments suggest that Savage’s larger-than-life persona wasn’t merely a character he portrayed on television, but rather an amplified version of his authentic personality. Nash also revealed he would put Randy Savage on his list of all-time greats.

He would be hard not to put on my four-man Mount Rushmore. I mean he was that good.

Nash’s heartfelt memories of Randy Savage serve as a poignant reminder of the “Macho Man’s” lasting influence on both the sport and those who knew him personally.
