WWE Hall Of Famer Says AEW’s Kyle O’Reilly Looks More Like A Janitor Than A Wrestler

WWE Hall Of Famer Says AEW's Kyle O'Reilly Looks More Like A Janitor Than A Wrestler

WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff did not hold back in his critique of AEW Dynamite and singled out one of the company’s stars, Kyle O’Reilly.

During a recent episode of his 83 Weeks podcast, targeting the November 20th episode of the show. Bischoff criticised the presentation of some AEW performers, singling out Kyle O’Reilly and Adam Cole with harsh words.

O’Reilly looks like a guy who’s mopping the floors after hours at Taco Bell and couldn’t cut a promo to save his life, and you’re giving them centre stage, right in the middle of the ring. The only person in that arena who looked less like a wrestler was Adam Cole.

Bischoff’s remarks reflect his ongoing critical stance on AEW’s product, often emphasising what he believes are key shortcomings in presentation and character development. While targeting O’Reilly and Cole specifically, Bischoff also contrasted his criticism with praise for the opening match of the show, which he said met the standard of primetime wrestling.

Presentation is everything. One of the reasons I got excited about the opening match was because at least everybody came wearing wardrobe. They looked like they should be on a primetime professional wrestling show—they didn’t come to the ring wearing their f**king wifebeaters and holes in their shoes.

The comments sparked debate among fans online. Some agreed with Bischoff, highlighting the importance of professional presentation in the wrestling industry. Others defended AEW’s diverse roster and its alternative approach to wrestling, noting that authenticity and individuality are part of what sets the promotion apart.

What Did Kyle O’Reilly Say About His Return To In-Ring Action?

Kyle O’Reilly spoke about his in-ring return after nearly two years on the March 16th episode of AEW Collision. O’Reilly had to undergo major surgery to repair a neck problem and also suffered from serious post-surgery issues which left him unable to compete since the 8th of June 2022. O’Reilly spoke about his return and said that he was really lucky to be able to get the chance to compete in an AEW ring again.
