WWE Hall Of Famer “Ripped Off” & Could Be Left With Nothing

2011 WWE Hall of Fame

WWE Hall of Famer Abdullah The Butcher is in a perilous financial situation as his wife looks for a divorce after allegedly ripping him off.

Speaking in an interview with Click On Detroit, Abdullah The Butcher spoke about his unfortunate financial situation and how he could be left with nothing:

“Well, at 82 years old, I sit in my room a lot of times and I say that I’ve worked for nothing. All of what I had worked for in the wrestling business by acting crazy, beating my head against the wall, doing this, doing that — I might not have nothing pretty soon.

“You got a lot of people who try to take what you worked all your life for. In my opinion, I’ve been ripped off so bad it’s unbelievable, and (I’m) still getting ripped off.”

The Butcher lost a $2.3 million lawsuit back in 2014 to fellow wrestler Devon Nicholson over allegations that Abdullah had infected Nicholson with Hepatitis C after using a blade to cut him in the match. Abdullah lost the suit by default and says his illiteracy meant he didn’t know he was even being sued.

While not mentioned in the interview, a GoFundMe page set up to fundraise for Abdullah reveals that his financial ills are currently down to an ongoing situation with his wife.

Abdullah The Butcher is said to own nothing, not even his house, which is in his wife’s name and she is now looking for a divorce. The page set up by Abdullah’s goddaughter accuses his wife and her brother of clearly “taking advantage of Abdullah and he is now in desperate need of funds to get a divorce attorney that can help him out of this predicament.

The life and career of Abdullah The Butcher is just one story that will be covered in the latest series of Dark Side of The Ring.
