WWE Hall Of Famer Reveals They Were Considered For Huge WrestleMania Bout With The Undertaker

WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam revealed that he was once considered for a dream match at WrestleMania against a fellow WWE legend during the height of his popularity.

Discussing this on his “1 Of A Kind” podcast, RVD reflected on the possibility of a marquee match that could have elevated his already impressive WrestleMania record. Rob Van Dam, who boasts a perfect WrestleMania streak of 4-0, has notable victories including winning the WWE Intercontinental Championship from William Regal in 2002 and triumphing in the Money in the Bank ladder match in 2006.

Reflecting on his early days in the company, Van Dam shared:

I was told at one point when I was first there in WWE getting one of those first momentum rides. There’s a story that they were thinking of putting me in WrestleMania, maybe it was against The Undertaker, I’m not sure. It sounded like a main event spot or at least a really high on the card spot, and said party said, ‘No he’s not over enough.’

Despite the disappointment, Van Dam accepted the decision, recognising the importance of logical reasoning in such high-stakes decisions. He maintained a positive outlook and felt that if there was an argument backed with logic and reasoning, he could accept being passed on for a huge WrestleMania match against The Undertaker.

Although Van Dam never faced The Undertaker at WrestleMania, he did have a memorable feud with him for the Hardcore Championship in late 2001.

What Bizarre Thing Does The Undertaker Regret Most From His WWE Career?

The Undertaker said that he regrets wearing snakeskin pants in a WWE Survivor Series match with Kurt Angle. Undertaker dispelled the rumours that he had forgotten his ring gear and borrowed the pants from The Godfather and owned up to the fact that he had WWE’s seamstress make the pants for him.
