WWE Hall Of Famer Reveals Surprising Contract Status
One WWE Hall of Famer has revealed the truth about their contract status with the company, and it might take many by surprise.
WWE Hall of Famer JBL was back on the airwaves at Worlds Collide on September 12th, where he joined Konnan and Corey Graves as the English language commentary team for the event.
That show saw Dominik Mysterio capture the AAA Mega Championship with his father, Rey Mysterio, forced to put the title belt around his deadbeat son’s waist.
JBL has seemingly been enjoying himself in recent times, appearing at TNA and AAA shows, wiping out anyone in his way with his Clothesline From Hell. But does his WWE return mark a new era for him with the company where he made his name?
JBL Not Under WWE Contract
Speaking on Something to Wrestle, JBL was asked about his status with WWE and if he was currently under contract with the company:
Absolutely not. Nope. No. Do not work for them.
I have a wonderful relationship that I’m very happy with, and I don’t do anything that surprises them. I have a great relationship. If I’m gonna do something, sometimes I will give them a heads up that I’m gonna do something, just out of common respect and courtesy.
I love those guys, and I love the company. I’ve been there 30-something years, I’m not gonna do anything to harm that company. But no – people accuse me of being a shill for them, working for them, that’s not true. I am doing some stuff with them and I’m glad when they call. I always answer the phone, and if I can do it, I’ll always be there for them.
