WWE Hall Of Famer To Return On Raw To Start Feud With Major Star
A familiar face will soon be back on WWE Raw.
At WrestleMania 41, Jey Uso finally slayed the dragon, or in his case, beat World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. However, the Austrian star wasn’t about to just move on and leave his beloved championship behind.
It may have taken two months, but on the June 9 episode of Raw, Gunther finally got his rematch and submitted Uso in the main event.
With the championship back with the Ring General, attention quickly turned to the identity of his first challenger, and it seems fans won’t have to wait long to find out.
Goldberg On Brink Of WWE Return
According to a new report from Cory Hays via Viper Reports and Bodyslam.net, Goldberg is scheduled to return on the June 16 edition of Raw. Furthermore, he’s expected to be “coming after” new World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.
A feud between the pair was first teased back at Bad Blood, where Gunther mocked Goldberg, who was seated in the crowd with his family. The former WCW star attempted to get his hands on Gunther, but they were kept apart by security.
After he won back the World Championship, Gunther named-dropped Goldberg again, seemingly laying the groundwork for an upcoming match.
It’s long been believed that any match between the duo would take place in Saudi Arabia, and WWE is set to return to the kingdom for Night of Champions on June 28.
Meanwhile, there has been increased speculation that Ilja Dragunov could also return on June 16 after spending nine months out with an ACL injury. As noted in the most recent report on his status, it was revealed that Dragunov has been training multiple times a day to get back in the ring as quickly as possible.
