Oba Femi impressed WWE fans with his performance at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Competing in his first match on the main roster, the NXT Champion took on the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in a singles match.

Opening the show, The Ruler received a huge pop when he made his entrance. Despite lacking experience, Femi showed no signs of rawness, taking the 40-year-old Rhodes head on.

The American Nightmare often found himself on the defensive due to his lagging in height and weight compared to his 27-year-old adversary.

Femi was up despite taking multiple hits before the action moved outside the ring. At one point, Cody found himself on the commentary table.

Oba Femi took the opportunity to hit him with a running uppercut. While both men returned to the ring, Rhodes was bleeding from his right ear.

Rhodes somehow managed to hit a Cody Cutter off the top rope. Before the match could continue, Drew McIntyre interfered and attacked Rhodes, causing a disqualification.

After the match, the babyfaces got rid of The Scottish Warrior before celebrating together.

WWE Legend Booker T Praises Oba Femi

Booker T performs as a color commentator on WWE’s NXT brand, of which Oba Femi is the men’s champion.

So, naturally, the Hall of Famer is accustomed to seeing him every week and is well-versed about his in-ring acumen.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast on YouTube, the 60-year-old veteran praised Femi, claiming that he looked like a main roster superstar.

Oba definitely went out there and did a hell of a job with Cody Rhodes. It looked like he belonged on the main roster. Looked like he could compete with anybody you know, in the main roster right now, just the walk, you know, the tribal walk, you know what I mean, and then to get there and, you know, really turn into Oba Femi and go in the middle of that ring and handle business from both sides, you know?

I mean, Oba Femi knows exactly how to go out there and perform. And he still has so much, so much more to learn. He really does. But I look at him now, and in his infancy stages, and, man, he has picked it up so, so quickly. So, yeah, man, I see nothing but nothing but a bright, bright future for that kid, Oba Femi.
