Retired WWE Hall Of Famer Open To In-Ring Return

A WWE legend can’t close the door on a comeback.

After almost stumbling into the wrestling business with WCW, Torrie Wilson signed with WWE in 2001. She went on to become one of the most popular women in the company, despite a controversial storyline with Dawn Marie on SmackDown.

Wilson continued to be a popular presence until she was released in 2008. With a back injury only getting worse, she later announced her retirement.

Since her full-time run came to an end in late 2007, Wilson has made short in-ring returns at WrestleMania 25, Evolution 2018, and the Royal Rumble in 2018 and 2012. The star was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2019.

During a new interview with Shak Wrestling, Wilson admitted that she wouldn’t turn down an in-ring comeback if the right opportunity came up. But getting back in the ring isn’t something she’s actively chasing.

“I feel like if you’ve ever been in wrestling, the door is never completely closed. But people ask me a lot, like, ‘do you have another match in you?’, and I’m like, yes, of course. Like, if something awesome came along, how would I not have that in me?

It would take a lot more preparation on my end because I wouldn’t want to go back and do something like that didn’t make people go, ‘oh, wow, she is an athlete, right?’ So I would want to, I guess, make myself proud.

But at the same time, I like golfing and playing tennis and working out and my back issues are, not going away anytime soon.”

During the same interview, Torrie Wilson recalled being slapped by Randy Savage as the wrestling legend went off-script in 1999 WCW. Wilson said the slap “came out of nowhere,” and her subsequent laugh was a genuine reaction as she had no idea what was going on.

The star, who had no background in wrestling, had only joined the company months earlier.

Goldberg Disappointed By WWE Retirement Match

While Wilson might be open to getting back into the ring, fellow former WCW star Goldberg wrestled his last match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12.

In the main event of the TV special, the veteran lost to Gunther as he tried to become the World Heavyweight Champion one more time. With the match over, he addressed the Atlanta, Georgia crowd with his family and friends in the ring.

However, Goldberg later said that he was disappointed with how WWE handled the match, accusing them of not putting in enough effort.

Despite the advertising around that match, the WWE Hall of Famer has admitted that he can’t promise he won’t wrestle again.
